To achieve the make up look I created for Holly for the NTA's red carpet 2016, first start with the basics, a super quick skin preparation .
I used the Charlotte Tilbury Goddess Skin Clay Mask / Baby skin, a brilliant product for waking up your skin pre red carpet, an alternative is the Ren 1 minute facial, another staple favourite .
Then onto some moisturiser, make sure you let your moisturiser soak in, we used the Charlotte Tilbury Magic cream today we added my favourite skin primer on the T-Zone by This Works in Transit Camera close up.
I then applied a Make up Forever HD foundation in shade Y345 with a blending brush where needed, always ensure you blend any foundation evenly into your jawline, it's still the most common mistake when in a rush. And only use it where you need it, foundations nowadays are much easier to blend so be aware of not applying to much.
I set the base with a dusting of some Bare Minerals veil finishing powder in translucent using an angled brush, try Eco tools for really good quality professional brushes without having to take out a bank loan !
Then onto the eyes, for this look we used Charlotte Tilbury luxury palette eye shadows in Glamour Muse ( only using shades 1 & 2 for this look ) using shade no 2 all over the socket and no 1 only in the brow bone area and in the corner of the eyes , then taking Mac eyeshadow in Mulch, blend this on top of no 2 and use a small amount of Mac eyeshadow embark to blend along the lash line with a small angle brush.
The eyebrows are filled in very slightly using HD Brows browtec in Foxy, and then set into shape with some Anastasia brow wax.
After the eyeshadow is done use a cotton bud to clean up and eyeshadow drops under the eye with a moisturiser then used the Re-toucher by Charlotte Tilbury under the eyes in shade no 1, use the warmth of your index finger to blend in smoothly.
We Curled the eyelashes and applied Rodial Glamolash in black , then using Ardell Demi wispy lashes apply to enhance the eyes / cutting sharp ends or trimming shorter if need be.
Always ensure the glue has been allowed to dry for at least 45 seconds before applying the lash.
For red carpet or an event you really want your skin to glow and look radiant to the naked eye as well as in a photograph, this is where strobing & subtle contoring is pure magic, I used the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar bronze and glow to achieve this look and added some Sisley Blusher in shade Phyto -blush 2 pinky blush on the apple of the cheek only.
The lip liner we used is Kevyn Aucoin in medium and we used a Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in Very Victoria. Always keep a small lip balm to hand incase your lips get dehydrated, a good tip is to blend a very small amount in with your lipstick especially if it's a matte look.💄💋💄💋💄
